Resolving Seeming Contradictions in Scripture

Watch the video version on YouTube: https://youtu.be/JwSnWMBKh6s

In this episode, Jeff and Craig explain how passages that appear to contradict each other are resolved through careful attention to word usage, translation, and context. Focusing on Scripture that speaks about temptation and testing, they show how the same English word can be used in different senses without creating conflict. The discussion reinforces confidence in the unity and truthfulness of God’s Word.

Scripture mentioned:

James 1:13 (KJV)

https://www.blueletterbible.org/esv/jas/1/14-15/s_1147014

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)

https://www.blueletterbible.org/esv/1co/10/13/s_1072013

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
